These sister initiatives, which have been supplying fresh, culturally-relevant produce and nourishing meals to Burlington's underserved communities, highlighted the stark need for sustainable food sources year-round. Motivated by the gap in fresh produce availability during Vermont's harsh winters, Village Hydroponics was conceived to extend the growing season, ensuring continuous access to healthy food.
