• Vice President: Zeinab Bulle

    Vice President: Zeinab Bulle. Zeinab arrived in Burlington at the age of 11 as a refugee from Somalia along with her mother and three siblings. Zeinab, who comes from a multi-generation farming family, has always been passionate about farm-worker advocacy, diverse cooking styles, and sharing the flavors of Somalia with her Vermont neighbors. Coming from a large family, and now with three children of her own, Zeinab strongly values systems of communal care and serves as Community and Outreach Manager for both The Peoples Kitchen (TPK) and The Peoples Farmstand (TPF). Zeinab, who lives in the primary neighborhood served by these organizations, looks forward to helping her neighbors learn about VH and coordinate their participation.

  • Treasurer: Rose Wall

    Treasurer: Rose Wall. Rose has a background in small-scale organic farming, local food systems, and farm-to-plate education. Rose is currently working in the energy efficiency sector, primarily focusing on agricultural applications. Using her MBA in sustainable innovation, Rose will help ensure that the construction and operations of the farm are conducted in the most energy-efficient and environmentally-responsible manner possible. She is delighted to join the board of Village Hydroponics as she believes access to fresh, culturally preferred food and the opportunity to be involved with growing your own food is important for the health of a community.

  • Secretary: Jake Schumann

    Secretary: Jake Schumann. Jake is a long-time Burlington resident with expertise in local politics and social justice activism. Serving as a Burlington EMT for many years, Jake learned first-hand the importance of social services and community support networks. Jake loves living in Burlington, and has made a name for himself for not being afraid to speak up for the rights of underserved populations and ruffle the feathers of those that seek to maintain the inequitable powers that be. Jake serves as Administrative Manager for TPK and coordinates diaper distributions, an intense yet rewarding task.

  • Executive Director: Nour El-Naboulsi

    Executive Director: Nour El-Naboulsi. Nour, a first-generation Arab Muslim, has been farming in Vermont for nearly 10 years. As a child of immigrants fleeing violence and land displacement, Nour is passionate about community resilience and food sovereignty. This led to Nour founding TPF, which he currently serves as Co-Director. Nour has worked in communal farming systems

  • President: Prince Awhaitey

    President: Prince Awhaitey. Prince, the son of Ghanaian immigrants, has been interested in nutritious and diverse produce ever since he was a child working in his parents' Mawuhi African Market in Burlington, VT. Prince recently received his MS in Food, Nutrition, and Wellness Studies from UVM in order to advance his dream of helping people live healthier lifestyles. Prince is the owner of Healthy Kingdom, which helps individuals implement daily routines of hydration, stretching, exercise, hygiene, and most importantly unique nutrition strategies. Prince, a long-time hydroponic grower, is excited to help lead VH with an eye on nutrient-dense produce and culturally appropriate produce selection.
